In most technical drawings, there can be various kinds of arcs and circles. In some cases, you need to give the arc length of these arcs or circles in technical drawings. Here we will show all the important options of the arc command in Autocad.
3 Point Arc Command in AutoCAD

Firstly, to draw this geometry by selecting three points in the drawing scheme of Autocad, click on this command as shown by the red arrow above.

After that, specify the first point as shown by the red arrow above in Autocad.

And then, the arc will be shown as above, and you can put your third point with your cursor. The arc will be shaped according to this third point selected in Autocad.

So, we selected our third point in the 3-Point Arc command as shown by the red arrow above. Our Arc is created in Autocad.

After that, you can select the Center option as shown by the red arrow above in the 3-Point Arc command.

After clicking on the Center option in Autocad, you select the Center of the arc first as shown by the red arrow above.

After selecting the Center point of this command in Autocad, select the starting point as shown by the red arrow above, then select the ending point of the arc as shown by the green arrow above.

The arc was created as above. This Center option of this 3-Point Arc command of Autocad provides the selection of center first, then placing the arc properly by selecting starting and ending points.
Start Center End Arc Command in AutoCAD

To open the command, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the green arrow above then click on the Start, Center, End command in Autocad as shown in the green box.

After entering the command, specify the starting point of this geometry that you need to draw then the cursor location will be the center point of your arc in Autocad.

We selected our first starting point as shown by the red arrow above, secondly, we specified the center as shown by the blue arrow again, then we specified the endpoint as shown by the green arrow that we obtained our arc geometry in Autocad.
Start Center Angle Arc in AutoCAD

To open the command, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the green arrow above then click on the Start, Center, and Angle commands as shown in the green box.

After entering the command, specify the starting point of this geometry as shown by the green arrow above, that you need to draw, then the cursor location will be the center point of your arc as shown by the red arrow in Autocad.

And also, selected the first starting point as shown by the red arrow. And then we selected our center also, in this step we need to enter the angle value of our arc as shown in the red box above to complete the arc drawing process with this command in Autocad.

So, as you can see, we drew this geometry and y as above in Autocad.
Start, Center, Length Arc Drawing

To open the command, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the red arrow above then click on the Start, Center, and Length commands as shown in the red box.

After entering the command, specify the starting point of the arc as shown by the green arrow above, that you need to draw, then the cursor location will be the center point of your arc as shown by the red arrow in Autocad.

We selected the first point of our geometry as a starting point as shown by the red arrow above then we selected our center point in the Autocad drawing scheme. To complete the arc drawing, enter the arc length as shown in the red box above. Also, you can define your arc length by dragging your mouse cursor.

Start, End, Angle Arc Drawing

To open the command, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the red arrow above then click on the Start, End, and Angle commands as shown in the red box.

After entering to the Start, End, Angle command in Autocad, select the starting point of the arc as shown by the red arrow then the cursor location will be the ending point of this geometry as shown by the green arrow.

After specifying the starting and ending points for it, enter an angle value as shown by the green box above in Start, End, Angle command in Autocad then press enter to draw it. Also, you can define the curvature level by dragging your cursor on the drawing scheme of Autocad, then clicking to define it.

So we obtained an arc like the above by selecting starting point, ending point, and angle value respectively, as its name implies.
Start, End, Direction Arc Drawing in AutoCAD

To open the command, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the green arrow above then click on the Start, End, and Direction commands as shown in the green box.

After entering the Start, End, Direction command in Autocad, select the starting point of the arc as shown by the green arrow then the cursor location will be the ending point of the arc as shown by the red arrow.

We selected starting and ending points of the arc in the Start, End, and Direction commands as shown by the green arrow above. To complete the arc drawing process, specify the direction of the arc by dragging your cursor on the drawing scheme. The arc will be oriented according to your cursor, which will be tangent to the direction line as shown by the red arrow above in Autocad. Click and finish the arc drawing process in Autocad.

The obtained arc is like the above. So creating or sketching arcs with Start, End, and Direction methods is very useful and easy as you see.
Start, End, Radius Arc Drawing

To open the command, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the green arrow above then click on the Start, End, and Radius commands as shown in the green box.

After entering the Start, End, Radius command in Autocad, select the starting point of the arc as shown by the green arrow then the cursor location will be the ending point of the arc as shown by the red arrow.

After specifying starting and ending points of the arc as shown by the green arrows above, specify the radius of the arc by dragging the cursor on the line that is shown as a red arrow. The line length will be the radius value of the arc.

The arc is obtained as above with Start, End, and Radius commands. So it is very basic to obtain arcs with Start, End, and Radius arc drawing commands in Autocad.
Center, Start, End Arc Drawing

To open the command, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the green arrow above then click on the Center, Start, and End commands as shown in the green box.

After entering the Center, Start, and End Arc command, click on an intended point in the drawing scheme to specify the center point of the arc as shown by the green arrow above. Alsı the cursor location will be the starting point of this geometry in Autocad.

We specified the center point of our arc first as shown by the red arrow above, then we specified the starting point of our arc as shown by the blue arrow. To complete the arc drawing process with the Center, Start, End Arc command, specify the ending point as shown by the green arrow above in Autocad.

So we obtained the above arc with the Center, Start, and End Arc commands. As its name implies, we drew this arc by specifying the center point, start point, and end point of the arc respectively.
Center, Start, Length Arc Drawing in AutoCAD

To open the command, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the green arrow above then click on the Center, Start, and Angle Arc commands as shown in the green box.

After entering the Center, Start Angle command in Autocad, specify the center point of the arc first as shown by the green arrow above. The location of your cursor will show the starting point of this geometry as shown by the red arrow above in the Autocad drawing scheme.

We specified our center point as shown by the red arrow then selected the starting point as shown by the green arrow above in this drawing in Autocad. To finish the arc drawing with the Center, Start, Angle command, enter an angle value as shown in the red box.

The obtained arc is like the above with the Center, Start, and Angle commands. We created our arc by specifying a center point than a starting point and entering an angle value finally as its name implies.
Center, Start, Length Arc Drawing in AutoCAD

To open the command, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the green arrow above then click on the Center, Start, and Length Arc commands as shown in the green box.

After entering the Center, Start, Length arc drawing command in Autocad, specify the center point of the arc as shown by the green arrow, and the location of the cursor will show the starting point of the arc as shown by the red arrow above.

We defined the center point first and then defined the starting point as shown by the red arrow above. To finish the arc drawing with the Center, Start, and Length arc drawing tool, enter the arc length value as shown in the red box above, then press enter from your keyboard.

The drawn arc is like the above with the Center, Start, and Length commands. So it is very basic to obtain arcs with the Center, Start, Length arc tool in Autocad as you see. As its name implies that we created the arc by specifying a center and then a starting point and entering an arc length value respectively in the Center, Start, Length command in Autocad.
Drawing Elliptical Arc in AutoCAD

To draw ellipses as elliptical arcs, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the green arrow above then click to open the Elliptical Arc command as shown in the green box in Autocad.

After entering t this command in Autocad, specify the first point or starting point of the base ellipse axis as shown by the green arrow above, then click to define the second point of the axis of the ellipse as shown by the red arrow.

So we selected the first and second points of the base ellipse axis as shown by the green and red arrows above in Autocad, then specify the second axis as shown by the blue arrow to complete the axis drawing in the Elliptical Arc command.

After drawing of the base ellipse to obtain an elliptical arc in Autocad, specify the starting angle or elliptical arc as shown by the blue arrow above. Also, you can enter a starting angle value as shown by the green arrow, then click enter to specify the ending angle value of this geometry in Autocad.

So drawing elliptical arcs in Autocad with the Elliptical Arc command is very basic as you can see.
Arc Length Dimensioning in AutoCAD

For example, we need to dimension the length of an arc as shown by the red arrow above in Autocad. To do this, click on the little pop-up menu as shown by the green arrow above then click on this command as in the green box in Autocad.

After entering this command in Autocad, click on the related arc to be dimensioned in Autocad as shown by the red arrow above, then place your dimension line by clicking as shown by the green arrow.

You can also edit your Arc Length dimension by double-clicking on that as above in Autocad. Select the all-dimension text as above with ‘Ctrl+A’;
You can edit the height of dimension text as shown by the green arrow in Autocad.
You can edit the formatting of the Arc Length dimension text such as boldness, italic, color, font, etc. as shown by the red arrow above. Also, you can add symbols such as technical drawing symbols as shown by the blue arrow above in Autocad.
After you are done editing the linear Arc Length dimension text, just press ‘Esc’ from your keyboard then press ‘Enter’ to save changes.
