Chamfer Command In Siemens NX(Illustrated Expression)

Chamfers are generally used geometric features in general desings. In Siemens NX the command to create chamfer geometries is very versatile. In this article, we will explain the ‘Chamfer’ command and its all features in Siemens NX.

How To Use Chamfer Command In Siemens NX?

Click on ‘Chamfer’ command in Siemens NX.

The use of ‘Chamfer’ command will be explained with a very basic example. Just click on ‘Chamfer’ command in Siemens NX as shown by blue arrow above.

Select the edge or edges to be chamfered in Siemens NX.

After entering into the ‘Chamfer’ command, click to select the edges to be chamfered as shown by blue arrow above. Enter the ‘Distance’ value for the chamfer geometry. This is the most basic symmetric chamfering operation in Siemens NX.

Asymmetric Chamfer command in Siemens NX.

You can obtain asymmetric chamfer geometries by selecting the ‘Asymmetric’ option in Chamfer command as shown in red box above. You need to enter two value of distances of edges of chamfer geometry as shown by red and blue arrows. Also you can change the entered distance value as reverse edges by clicking on little button as shown in little blue box in Siemens NX.

Offset and Angle option in Chamfer command.

Also you can create your chamfered geometries by entering a distance and an angle value. To do this, select the ‘Offset and Angle’ option for Chamfer command as shown in blue box above. And enter a distance value as shown by blue arrow then enter an angle value as shown by red arrow. The other distance value is dependent on this angle and distance values that are entered by you. You can also change the places of entered angle and distance values into reverse direction with the little button inside little red box above in Siemens NX.

Click on OK or Apply to complete chamfering operation in Siemen NX.
