Creating Quick Cone And Conic Geometries In Siemens NX(Illustrated Expression)

In this article we will show you how to create conic geometries in a very shoty way in Siemens NX with ‘Cone’ command with very basic iluustrations below.

How To Use ‘Cone’ Command In Siemens NX?

Click on ‘Cone’ command in Siemens NX.

To open the ‘Cone’ command in Siemens NX, click on little pop up menu as as shown by red arrow above called ‘More’ then click on ‘Cone’ command as in red box.

Select the ‘Diameters and Height’ option for ‘Cone’ command in Siemens NX.

After entering into the ‘Cone’ command, the first option is ‘Diameters and Height’as in red box above. In this option, you need to specify the base point as shown by blue arrow and a axis vector as shown by red arrow.

Then you need to enter the base and top diameters and the height values of cone geometry as in blue box. If the created geometry coincides with other 3D geometry in Siemens NX, you can use Boolean options.

Click on ‘OK’ or ‘Apply’ to create the cone geometry.

The base and top diameters are shown by blue arrows above and height of the created cone is shown by red line above.

Select the ‘Diameters and Half Angle’ option for ‘Cone’ command in Siemens NX.

In ‘Cone’ command, the second option is ‘Diameters and Half Angle’ as in red box above. In this option, you need to specify the base point as shown by blue arrow and a axis vector as shown by red arrow.

Then you need to specify the base and top diameter, and the half angle value of cone that will specify the height of the cone as shown in blue box above.

Click on ‘OK’ or ‘Apply’ to create the cone geometry.

The half angle of created cone is shown above with blue line.

Select the ‘Base Diameter, Height and Half Angle’ option for ‘Cone’ command in Siemens NX.

In ‘Cone’ command, the third option is ‘Base Diameter, Height and Half Angle’ as in red box above. In this option, you need to specify the base point as shown by blue arrow and a axis vector as shown by red arrow.

Then you need to specify the base diameter, height and half angle value of cone geometry. These values will specify the top diameter of the created cone geometry in Siemens NX.

Click on ‘OK’ or ‘Apply’ to create the cone geometry.

Select the ‘Base Diameter, Height and Half Angle’ option for ‘Cone’ command in Siemens NX.

In ‘Cone’ command, the fourth option is ‘Top Diameter, Height and Half Angle’ as in red box above. In this option, you need to specify the base point as shown by blue arrow and a axis vector as shown by red arrow.

Then you need to enter the top diameter, height and half angle values as in blue box above in ‘Cone’ command. These value will define the base diameter of the created cone structure.

Click on ‘OK’ or ‘Apply’ to create the cone geometry.

Select the ‘Two Coaxial Arcs’ option for ‘Cone’ command in Siemens NX.

In ‘Cone’ command, the fifth option is ‘Two Coaxial Arcs’ as in red box above. This is slightly different option to create cone structures. To do this, you need to select coaxial arc or circle sketches in different planes as shown by red and blue arrows above. The cone will be created with these sketches in Siemens NX.

Click on ‘OK’ or ‘Apply’ to create the cone geometry.

The use of ‘Cone’ command and its options is very easy to create cone structures as above.
