Dimensioning Angular Entities In AutoCAD(Illustrated Expression)

Angular entities are very common in most technical drawings. And dimensioning of these angular entities in technical drawings properly is very important. In Autocad, this kind of business is very easy. In this content, we will explain how to dimension angular entities in Autocad 2D with ‘Angular’ command with a very basic example below.

How To Use ‘Angular’ Command In AutoCAD?

Click on ‘Angular’ command in Autocad.

For example, we need to give dimensions to the corner entities as shown by green arrows in Autocad. To do it, click on little pop up menu as shown by red arrow above then click on ‘Angular’ command as in red box in Autocad.

Select constitutive corners for angular dimension in Autocad.

After entering into the ‘Angular’ command, you need to select the corners that constitutes related angular corner respectively as shown by green and red arrows in Autocad. Then you need to place your dimension text by clicking finally.

Edit your Angular dimension in Autocad.

You can also edit your angular dimension by double clicking on that as above in Autocad. Select the all dimension text as above with ‘Ctrl+A’;

You can edit the height of dimension text as shown by red arrow in Autocad.

You can edit the formatting of the angular dimension text such as boldness, itallic, color, font etc. as shown by green arrow above. You can also add symbols such as technical drawing symbols as shown by blue arrow above in Autocad.

After you done with editing the linear angular dimension text, just press ‘Esc’ from your keyboard then press ‘Enter’ to save changes.
