Some engineers or designers are design their parts and structures to see the material propeties of these parts. To do it, you need to first define the material of your part. This material definition is made with material library of CAD tool that you are using. In here, we will show you how to see the mass and other properties of designed parts in Solidworks.
How To See Mass Properties Of Materials In Solidworks?

First of all, kame sure that a material is assigned on your body in Solidworks as shown in green arrow. If you selected a material, click on ‘Evaluate’ menu as in red box in Solidworks above then click on ‘Mass Properties’ as shown by green arrow above to see the mass and other properties of your part.

After clicking on ‘Mass Properties’ command in Solidworks, all the mass properties are shown as above. Mass, volume and surface are of your selected part as shown. Also center of mass of your part is shown in cartesian coordinates. All the inertia properties are also shown in green boxes above.

If you click on ‘Properties’ button in Mass Propeties window, you can adjust the units of your property table. Click on ‘Use custom settings’, and change the length, mass and unit volume units accoding to yourself. You can also change the accuracy level of your mass and other calculations from slider. Click ‘OK’ to save the adjustments that you made.

If you click on ‘Print’ button, you can print out all the information or you can save the all information about mass characteristics of your part in Solidworks.
