In Siemens NX CAD software, there are various kinds of drafting tools are avaliable in one command. In this article we will show you the drafting method that you can draft only selected faces in Siemens NX.
How To Draft Faces In Siemens NX With ‘Draft’ Command?

For example, we want to give a draft angle to the side faces of the box above in Siemens NX. To do it, click on ‘Draft’ command as shown by red arrow above.

As default, ‘Face’ method is selected for face drafting as above that is shown in red box above. We specified the vector as an edge of a face that will be drafted as shown by red arrow. You can change that direction of draft angle as shown by green arrow, if you double click on that arrow, the draft orientation will not be outside manner. It will be inside manner.
To draft the faces, you need to select a stationary face as shown by blue arrow above, which must have common edges with face needed to be drafted. Draft angle will be given from these edges as above.
You can select multiple faces to give different draft angles as above. In ‘Faces To Draft’ section, you need to select the first face as shown by orange arrow above then click to create a new element inside the pink box. And select the second face as shown by pink arrow above. You can specify different angle values for these faces from the list inside the ‘Faces To Draft’ section.

You can select the drafting method as ‘Stationary and Parting’ as in pink box. We selected the top face as stationary face then selected the parting face as the plane that is created to part the geometry. So the geometry like above is obtained in Siemens NX with this method.

You can select the ‘Draft Method’ as ‘Parting Face’ and you will select a plane that divides geometry as shown by red arrow above. You can obtain geometries like above with this method in Siemens NX also.
If you complete the Draft options in Siemens NX, click on ‘OK’ or ‘Apply’ to complete it.
