Tapered Holes in Siemens NX – Illustrated Expression
How to Make Tapered Holes in Siemens NX?
In this article, we will show you how to obtain a standard-sized tapered hole in parts of Siemens NX. You know that the standard holes are generally used in machine parts and also tapered holes are generally used for bolt assemblies in mechanical systems. So, Siemens NX has a special tool to obtain these standard-size holes. We start with how to drill standard tapered holes to parts by using the Hole command in Siemens NX.

How to Drill Standard Tapered Holes in Siemens NX?

Firstly, to drill a standard-size tapered hole to parts in Siemens NX, you need to click on the Hole command as shown by the red arrow above.

Secondly, you need to specify hole locations on the Siemens NX part by clicking on the Points dialog as shown by the red arrow above.

And then, you need to select the whole hole locations that you want to drill tapered geometry, you need to just click on the locations as shown b the red arrows above. After that, click on the Finish button as shown by the red box above in Siemens NX.

Also, to drill tapered holes on Siemens NX parts, select the Tapered form from the Form And Dimensions tab as shown by the red box above.

Specify the Dimensions of Tapered Hole
You need to specify your tapered hole dimensions in Siemens NX;
Diameter: Enter the hea diameter of the tapered hole geometry as shown by the red arrow above.
Taper Angle: Enter an angle value that will define the decrement of the diameter of the tapered hole geometry as shown by the green arrow.
Depth: Enter a depth value for tapered hole geometry as shown by the blue arrow.

And then, you can select a Depth Limit method to drill tapered holes as shown by the blue box above:
Value: Enter a depth value for the tapered hole.
Until Selected: It drills the hole up to the selected feature.
Until Next: It drills the tapered hole up to the Next feature.
Through Body: It drills the whole body to that tapered hole geometry belongs.

You can adjust the depth of the tapered hole as shown in a red box above;
Cylinder Bottom: 40mm depth will be adjusted according to the cylinder bottom.
Cone Tip: 40mm depth will be adjusted according to the cone tip.
Finally, after you are done with the adjustments for your tapered hole drilling operation in Siemens NX, click OK or Apply to complete it.

So, we drilled the tapered holes to the Siemens NX part with the Hole command.
Conclusion
So, drilling tapered holes in Siemens NX is very simple like this.
