Grouping is very important and the widely used feature of Autocad that you can group the separate 2D features into a one object. Also you can explode or separate these combined features into a group if you need in Autocad sketching. How To Use ‘Explode’ Command In Autocad?

For example, the rectangle above is created with ‘Rectangle’ command which is a grouped feature in Autocad. You can not select the edges of that rectangle, you can select full of rectangle as shown by red arrow above. We can ‘Explode’ this rectangle into separate edges.
To do this, click on ‘Explode’ command as shown by green arrow above. Or you can directly enter into the ‘Explode’ command by typing ‘X’ from your keyboard, then press ‘Enter’.

After entering into the ‘Explode’ command in Autocad, you need to select the feature that needed to be exploded, then right click to complete the exploding operation. As you see above, the united rectangle as a grouped object is separated to individual edges.
