Extending Entities In Solidworks Sketching(Illustrated Expression)

This is very useful command in Solidworks sketching that you can extend the selected lines or skech entities up to closest entity. This is done by ‘Extend Entities’ command in Solidworks sketching. In this article we will explain the ‘Extend Entities’ commmand in Solidworks.

How To Use ‘Extend Entities’ Command In Solidworks Sketching?

Click on ‘Extend Entities’ command in Solidworks sketching.

To extend lines or sketch features in Solidworks to closest entities, click on little pop up menu as shown by red arrow above then click on ‘Extend Entities’ command as shown by green arrow.

In this very basic example, we will extend the line at the left side to the right side line with ‘Extend Entities’ command.

Click on a entity and extend it with ‘Extend Entities’ command in Solidworks sketching.

After entering into the command, click on the entity that you want to extend as shown by red arrow above, the preview of extended line will be shown as shown by green arrow.

So extending entities with ‘Extend Entities’ command is very easy as you see above.
