How To Solve License Error OF ANSYS®?

When you double-clicked on ANSYS® Workbench to open it, an error box appeared like above after the interface of ANSYS® is opened.

First of all, you need to check your ‘HOSTNAME’. To do it, open the ‘ANSYS® License Management Center’ by searching it from ‘Start’ at Windows. And run it as administrator. In your default browser, your license situations will be shown as below.


In this interface, click on ‘Get System Hostid Information’ as shown by the red arrow above then check your hostname and hostids as shown by the green arrow above.
So you need to start ‘Client ANSLIC_ADMIN Utility 1x.x’ from ‘Start’ of your Windows. x’es refers to your version such as ANSYS® 17.1 etc. Run it as administrator.
From the opened interface, click on ‘Specify The License Server Machine’. A second window will be opened. Then click on ‘Add Server Machine Specification’ from this window.

After clicking on ‘Add Server Machine Specification’, copy your HOSTNAME that is shown by the green arrow previously, then paste it to the ‘Hostname 1’ section. Then click on the ‘OK’ button to save it. Then click on ‘Close’ to the first window.
Retry to open your Workbench.
