Heat Reaction Probe In ANSYS® Thermal Analyses

ANSYS provides various kinds of tools to see thermal results in steady-state and transient thermal analyses. One of the solution results is the heat reaction probe. Here we explain how to see the heat reaction in ANSYS thermal analyses and what is the heat reaction.

Heat Reaction Probe In ANSYS® Mechanical

Heat reaction is the reaction of a part of the model, which can be surface, vertex, edge, or body. According to the defined boundary condition to these geometric features(temperature, convection, or radiation), you can see the heat reaction of that geometric feature as energy per unit time(W). 

Click on the ‘Reaction’.

As you see above, you just need to right-click on the ‘Solution’ tab in thermal analysis of ANSYS® Mechanical. Then hover your mouse on the ‘Insert’ and click on the ‘Reaction’ probe from the ‘Probe’ menu. But you need to define required boundary conditions and you need to obtain the required mesh structure for your analysis. 

Maximum and minimum heat reaction results.

Click on the ‘Solve’ button to see the heat reaction result in ANSYS®. You can see the result as maximum and minimum values as shown above.
