Hiding and Suppressing A Body In ANSYS® Mechanical(Illustrated Expression)

How Can You Suppress Or Hide Body In ANSYS® Mechanical?

Click on ‘Hide Body’ or ‘Suppress Body’ in ANSYS® Mechanical.

Right-click on one of the model geometry beneath the Geometry tab in the ANSYS® Mechanical Outline tree, hover your mouse on the ‘Insert’ tab as shown by the green arrow above then click on ‘Hide Body’ or ‘Suppress Body’ options as shown by green box above.

Show the Hidden body.

You can right-click on the model and click on ‘Show Body’ or ‘Show All Bodies’ to show the hidden body. The body is hidden will disappear from the Mechanical.

Unsuppress body.

If you suppress a body in ANSYS® Mechanical, you can unsuppress it right click on the model or geometry from the ‘Outline Tree’ then click on ‘Unsuppress Body’ as shown by the green box above.

The difference between suppressing a body or hiding a body is; When you suppress the body, the effect of this body on the analysis will disappear. So the result of the analysis could change because of it. But if you hide a body, the body’s effect on analysis will not be disappeared. Only the displaying of the body will be disappeared.


So hiding and suppressing geometries in ANSYS® Mechanical are like that.
