Thus, heating and forming these metals and metal alloys can be a problematic issue with the conventional metal forming methods. 

The problem is generally taking place because of heat transfer between heated metal and forming tools. This can lead to non-uniform microstructural orientation in the metal part, which is not desired thing. So, the isothermal metal forming process is developed for it.

The logic of the isothermal metal forming is very simple. To eliminate the problems occurring because of the thermal gradients, tools are also heated. Working the metals and alloys with very high melting temperatures, with the heated tools, heat transfer between metal and tool is eliminated substantially. 

Heating tools reduces the tool’s life and strength. This fact is one of the most important disadvantages of the isothermal metal forming processes. But, product prices are determined by considering this fact.
