Power Trimming In Solidworks Sketching(Illustrated Expression)

Solidworks provides various kinds of trimming commands and options inside it to ease the trimming sketch entities very quickly. These trimming options are very efficient if you know the how to use them. One of them is ‘Power Trimming’ option. In this article, we will show how to use ‘Power Triming’ in Solidworks.

How To ‘Power Trim’ The Sketch Entities In Solidworks?

Click on ‘Trim Entities’ command in Solidworks sketching.

For example we want to trim the sketch feature as above with ‘Power Trim’. Click on the ‘Trim Entities’ command as shown by green arrow above to do it.

You can only trim the active sketch’s entities with ‘Trim Feature’ command.

Click on ‘Power Trim’ in Solidworks sketching.

After opening the ‘Trim Entities’ command, select the ‘Power Trim’ option as shown by green arrow above.

Trim the required entities with ‘Power Trim’ in Solidworks sketching.

So you need to sketch out as shown by green arrow above in Power Trim command, the sketch entities that touches this sketching will be trimmed out as shown by green lines.

Click on little green yes button to complete the trim operation.

After you complete the trim operation, click on little yes button as shown by green arrow above to finish it in Solidworks sketching.

This trimmin command is very useful to trim very complex sketch entities, instead of select entity by entity.

So it is very easy to ‘Power Trim’ entities in Solidworks sketching.
