Rectangles are very important elements of technical drawings. You can also obtain various kinds of geometric shapes or other shapes from rectangles. In this article of Mechanicalland, we will show you how to draw rectangles in Autocad with Rectangle command.
How To Draw Rectangles In AutoCAD?

To draw rectangles in Autocad, you need to click to open the ‘Rectangle’ commadn as shown by red arrow above.

After entering to the ‘Rectangle’ command in Autocad, click to select the first point as shown by red arrow above then click to define the second diagonal point as shown by green arrow in Autocad.

You can click to ‘Chamfer’ option as shown by green arrow in ‘Rectangle’ command to draw chamfered rectangle geometries in Autocad.

Enter the first chamfer value for the rectangle as shown by green arrow above then press enter.

Enter the second chamfer value for the rectangle as shown by green arrow above then press enter. Then draw your rectangle.

So we obtained automatically chamfered rectangle geometry in Autocad.

Also you can click on ‘Fillet’ option as shown by green arrow in Rectangle command to obtain filleted rectangle geometries in Autocad. Like in chamfered rectangle, you need to enter a fillet value then draw the rectangle.

As you can see, we obtained filleted Rectangle geometry in Autocad.

Also you can click on ‘Width’ option in Rectangle command to enter a lineweigth value to your rectangle, as in ‘Chamfer’ option.

So you can see the ‘Width’ option is used for above rectangle.

After th eentering the command and selecting the first corner, you can adjust your rectangle from below menu as shown by green box above.
Area: You can obtain the rectangle by entering an area value in Autocad.
Dimensions: You can create the rectangle by entering heigth and width values oh the rectangle respectively.
Rotation: You rotate the rectangle as shown above by entering an angle value in Autocad.
So it is very basic to draw rectangle in Autocad.
