Sweep Along Guide In Siemens NX(Illustrated Expression)

To obtain tube-like shapes or geometries in Siemens NX, ‘Sweep Along Guide’ is a very useful tool to do this. In this article, we will explain how to create tube-like shapes by using a section sketch and guide sketch with ‘Sweet Along Guide’ command in Siemens NX.

How To Use ‘Sweep Along Guide’ Command In Siemens NX?

Section and guide curves in Siemens NX.

To use ‘Sweep Along Guide’ command, you need to have a proper sketch geometry as above. You must have a section that will be sweeped along a selected guide as shown by red and green arrows above.

Click on ‘Sweep Along Guide’ command in Siemens NX.

To open ‘Sweep Along Guide’ command in Siemens NX, you need to click on pop-up menu named ‘More’ as shown by green arrow, then click on ‘Sweep Along Guide’ command as in green box.

Select the guide and section curves for sweep operation.

After entering into the ‘Sweep Along Guide’ command in Siemens NX, click to select ‘Section’ and ‘Guide’ curves respectively as shown by red and green arrows. Then click ‘OK’ to obtain primary geometry as shown above.

Give ‘Offset’ values in ‘Sweep Along Guide’ command.

Also you can give offset values to obtain pipe-like geometries as above. You need to enter First and Second offset values as shown by green and red arrows in Siemens NX. Then click ‘OK’ to obtain pipe-like geometry.
