Scaling is very important and useful feature of Siemens NX CAD to obtain real 3D geometries from scaled technical drawings. In this article, we will explain how to make bigger or smaller 3D geometries in Siemens NX with ‘Scale Body’ command, with a very basic example below.
How To Use ‘Scale Body’ Command In Siemens NX?

To increse or decrease the scales of a 3D body in Siemens NX, click on ‘More’ pop-up menu as shown by red arrow above, then click on ‘Scale Body’ command as shown by green arrow.

After entering into the ‘Scale Body’ command in Siemens NX, click to select bodies to scale as shown by red arrow above, then specify a point that will be the scale reference point from which the scaling will done according to that point as shown by green arrow. Then you can enter a scale factor that the dimensions of 3D geometry will be multiplied with this factor. If you done with the adjustments in ‘Scale Body’ command, click on ‘OK’ or ‘Apply’ button.

If you select the ‘Axisymmetric’ option for ‘Scale Body’ command as in red box above, you need to specify a vector as shown by red arrow that you can give a special scaling factor along that vector. You need to specify a reference point again as shown by green arrow. Then you can give ‘Scale Factor’ along selected axis and other directions in green box. If you done, click on ‘OK’ button.

Aıf you select the ‘Non-uniform’ option for scaling as in red box above, you need to specify scaling factors separately for each coordinate system as in green box. You can also select another coordinate system to scale your geometry as shown by green arrow above.
Click on ‘OK’ to complete the scaling operation in Siemens NX.
