Trim Away Outside In Solidworks Sketching(Illustrated Expression)

In Solidworks sketching,  there are bunch of commands that you can do your trimmings in your skecth, and all of them are explained in Mechanicalland. Trim Away Outside is an also trimming command in Solidworks that you can use. In this article we will explain how to use Trim Away Outside command in Solidworks.

How To Use Trim Away Outside Command In Solidworks?

Click on ‘Trim Entities’ command in Solidworks.

To use Trim Outside Away feature in Solidworks, click on Trim Entities command as shıwn by green arrow above.

Use of Trim Away Outside feature in Solidworks.

With this command, you can trim the excessive sketches and features inside the selected boundries.

The use of Trim Away Outside feature in Trim Entities command is very basic. After enterin into the Trim Entities command, select the ‘Trim away outside’ option as shown by green box above.

Select the boundries of Trim as shown by green arrows above. These boundries will be used as trim boundries to trim away the excessive edges of lines.

After the selection of boundries, select the lines that needed to be trimmed with the selected boundries as shown by red arrows above in Solidworks.

Click on little green yes button to complete the trimming operation in Solidworks.

To cpmplete the trimming operation with ‘Trim away outside’ option, click on little green yes button as shown by red arrow above.

The trimmed geometry is like above again with ‘Trim awat outside’ option in Solidworks.
