Trim To Closest Boundry In Solidworks Sketching(Illustrated Expression)

This is the last option of all other trimming options in Solidworks. Solidworks provides bunch of trimming tools to trim the required places in sketches. So ‘Trim To Closest’ option is one of trimming options in Solidworks. In this article we will explain the use of ‘Trim To Closest’ option to trim entities in Solidworks sketching.

How To Use ‘Trim To Closest’ Option In Solidworks Sketching?

Click on ‘Trim Entities’ in Solidworks sketching.

We will explain the ‘Trim to closest’ option on above basic sketch in Solidworks. To use this option, click on ‘Trim Entities’ command as shown by red arrow above.

Use of ‘Trim to closest’ trimming option in Solidworks sketching.

After entering into the ‘Trim Entities’ command, click on ‘Trim to closest’ option as shown by red box above. In this option, you need to just select the sketch entity to trim away as shown by red arrow. The selected sketch entity will be trimmed up to the closest entity that it is intersecting as shown by green arrow.

The selected entity is trimmed with ‘Trim to closest’.

As you can see, the selected sketch entity in Solidworks is trimmed up to the closest selection. To complete the trimming operation, click on the little green yes button as shown by green arrow above.
