Trimming Bodies With Surfaces Or Planes In Siemens NX(Illustrated Expression)

How To Use ‘Trim Body’ Command In Siemens NX?

Click on ‘Trim Body’ command in Siemens NX.

For example, we want to trim the body with a plane as shown by red arrow above. To do this, click on ‘Trim Body’ command in Siemens NX as shown by blue arrow.

Click to select target and tool for ‘Trim Body’ command in Siemens NX.

After entering into the ‘Trim Body’ command in Siemens NX, click to select the body that is to be trimmed as shown by blue arrow, then click to select the plane or feature surface to trim the selected 3D geometry as shown by red arrow.

You can also create planes to trim the body inside the ‘Trim Body’ command itself. To do this, select the Tool Option as ‘New Plane’ as shown in red box above. Then specify a surface or plane as shown by red arrow, then create the tool plane by entering a distance value as shown by blue arrow in Siemens NX.

Click on ‘Plane Dialog’ in Trim Body command.

You can also create your tool plane with conventional plane creation in Siemens NX. Siemens NX has various kinds of plane generation tools, and you can use them to create your tool planes in ‘Trim Body’ command as shown in blue box above.
