Use Of Match Properties Tool In AutoCAD

There is a tool that called ‘Match Properties’ in Autocad and this tool is very useful when you want to tranfer all the properties of an objects, to an another object, such as lineweight, color, linetype etc. In here, we will show you how to use ‘Match Properties’ command in Autocad with a very basic example below.

How To Use ‘Match Properties’ Command In AutoCAD?

Click on ‘Match Properties’ tool as shown by red arrow above.

For example, we want to tranfer the lineweight, linetype and color of the circle as shown by green arrow above, to instances as shown by blue arrow. You do not need to adjust their properties like circle individually. Just use ‘Match Properties’ tool as shown by red arrow above in Autocad.

Click to select required objects for ‘Match Properties’ command.

After entering into the ‘Match Properties’ command, select the object that the properties of this object needed to be transferred to others, as shown by green arrow above. When you select the object, the cursor will turn into transferring mode. In this case, select the objects that needed have same properties with circle object as shown by blue arrow above.

As you see above, all the properties of circle are transferred to other objects in Autocad with ‘Match Properties’ command.
